Katya is enjoying a fulfilling career of deploying her analytical skills and drive to support the transformation of financial systems towards greater sustainability. Special interests include financial systems to drive better environmental, social, and more recently, human rights outcomes. Currently she leads the finance function of the $10b Climate Investment Funds to finance transformational change towards low-carbon climate-resilient development in the Global South. She is also a non-resident fellow of Princeton’s Julis-Rabinowitz Center for Public Policy & Finance focusing on interaction of finance and sustainable development. In her prior roles at the World Bank, she focused on providing policy advice and thought leadership on sustainable finance, facilitating long term finance through capital markets, as well as managing World Bank’s assets and liabilities. She holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Harvard Kennedy School, a Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics from Moscow State University, and a doctorate in Operations Research from George Washington University.
