Fa’aalu Leva’a Faletoese Iuli

American Samoa

Fa’aalu Leva’a Faletoese Iuli is the co-founder and Executive Director of the Integrated Commitment to Action and Nurturing ( I.C.A.N) Window of Hope and the former co-founder and Executive Director of the American Samoa Alliance against Domestic and Sexual Violence (ASADSV). Her work in violence prevention began in Sydney Australia over 35 years ago in the early 80’s in the areas of; youth work, women’s shelter advocacy, child protection, mental health, drug and substance abuse. She trained and was certified as a Multicultural Child Protection Specialist with the Department of Community Services in Sydney Australia where she spent many years in local government and community support within the Pacific Island community. Fa’aalu’s resolve to building and strengthening community capacity to create safe spaces is critical in addressing the root causes of violence. In her current role, Fa’aalu remains deeply committed to accessible and lasting connections in order to dismantle silos that prevent coordinated community responses in the Territory and Samoan communities on and off island. Simply put and in her own words “My life is my work and as long as I breath, I work.”
